The Open HandGene
When someone needs help, you're already reaching for your phone to send it. That's how people know they belong around you.
“Money is for passing on.”
An answer that worked once, and got handed down.
In your family, nobody got through a tight month alone. One person always covered the bill first, sent help before being asked, picked up the tab. That person was you, or you learned it from them.
Cover the bill before anyone asks
Say yes when your gut says maybe
Feel guilty about keeping something for yourself
Inner voice: “I'll manage. They need it more.”
You build the net of people that catches everyone when they fall.
Giving past what you can keep up. You can't pour from an empty hand.
Next time someone asks, take one breath before you answer. Yes is still allowed.
“Try this week” is a small thing to notice, not financial advice.
The shadow side.
Saying no isn't selfish. It's how you keep giving for years. Lend with terms, and count your own future as someone you love.
What it fears most: being the one who wasn't there. Being thought selfish.
The same Gene looks different at work and at home.
How the Open Hand tends to show up in each arena. These are starting points from our working notes, not rules.
| Self | Spends on others |
|---|---|
| Family | Covers anyone |
| Partner | Gives freely, rarely asks |
| Social | First to pay |
| Work | Shares credit and cash |
| Crisis | Gives even when drained |
What it looks like
Fino starts as an egg and hatches when you take the Scan. If Open Hand leads, it takes this form: a coral glow that spreads outward and leaves trails. Its core dims when it gives too much. Your second Gene shows as veins, your third as a soft glow.
In your voice
Fino adjusts its tone to your main Gene. For a Open Hand: warm, communal, speaks like family. It still never tells you what to buy, sell or hold.
Sound like you, or closer to a neighbour?

Read about Chaser →Everyone carries all eight Genes. The Scan shows which two lead for you. See all eight.
Asked often.
No. Generosity is the gift. The pattern to watch is giving that leaves nothing for your own next month.
Yes. Everyone carries all eight. Your Fingene is the two that lead: your main Gene and your second, shown as a split such as 64% and 36%.
It can. Retake the Scan whenever you like, and your earlier results are kept so you can see the change. The Genes themselves may also be refined as we learn.
No. It is an educational tool for self-awareness. It is not a clinical assessment and not financial advice.
